Sue Hunt - Associate
Sue is a recently retired, experienced Chief Executive with extensive knowledge and Board level experience of Acute, Mental Health, Learning Disability, and Community services, with a proven track record of success and effective leadership in a variety of organisations, over a number of years. In particular she has considerable experience in promoting and developing partnership working and supporting people through the management of change.

In 1997 Sue was appointed as Chief Executive of Coventry Healthcare NHS Trust, providing community and mental health services to a population of 400,000. The trust had an income of £33 million and a 1500 staff. The development of PCG’s provided opportunities for close collaboration with Primary Care in shaping service delivery.
In 2000 Sue became Chief Executive of Worcestershire Community and Mental Health NHS Trust. Initially this trust had an income of £87 million and 4000 staff. The development of PCT’s realigned community services with the new organisations and the resulting Mental Health and Learning Disability Trust retained 1000 staff and an income of £40 million.
Between 1999 and 2003 Sue chaired the Workforce Action Team, set up by the Department of Health to consider the workforce implications of the Adult of Working age NSF for Mental Health. Following the acceptance and publication of her report by the Minister, she was invited to join the Mental Health Task Force at the Department led by the Mental Health Czar, Louis Appleby. She also was a member of the Pilot Project and Management Board for Dangerous People with Serious Personality Disorder, established jointly by the DoH and Home Office from 2001-03

Sue has a passion for providing effective, high quality services, particularly for the most vulnerable, with a determination that the patient experience should be of the highest quality and pursues this with tenacity.
Sue has experience in bringing together individuals from a number of differing and, occasionally, conflicting organisations to form a workforce with shared culture and values and common goals. She believes that people work best in an environment where they feel supported and empowered to deliver against an agreed agenda and within a recognised framework. Using an open, unambiguous style of management, where she both visible and accessible, she has secured the confidence of key partners and staff in the provision of services by changing culture and delivering against agreed objectives to improve patient care and the user experience.
Sue is politically aware, pragmatic and flexible. An effective communicator, she possesses humour, consideration, tenacity, staying power and commitment.
