
Ralph trained as a psychiatric nurse in Scotland and has extensive nursing and management experience covering some 31 years in Scotland and England.
As Nursing Director and clinical governance lead within a Mental Health Social Care Trust he led the clinical development of all psychiatric services
Ralph promotes a critical systems thinking approach, which has provided him with a high degree of skill in the analysis of organisations against set standards. Training in root cause analysis and postgraduate learning in management have supported this systems approach.
He has frequently acted as an external clinical advisor to the NHS ombudsman.
He is particularly skilled in project management a skill honed over many years as clinical/management lead in commissioning both hospital and new mental health services.
Ralph, through his work in the mental health field, has been recognised by being inducted into Wolverhampton University as an honorary fellow for mental health. This recognises his skills and abilities in for his leadership in mental health delivery of high quality services and in nurse education.
This experience provides him with a rich and varied organisational development and management experience and a solution focussed approach at both a strategic and operational level.
